Well,
this was not really an interview, rather short excerpts of conversation with
Frieder Butzmann while we were going to visit Notre-Dame in Paris . This cathedral meant a lot to him
since he has a real passion for the so-called Notre-Dame school, people like
Philippe de Vitry, Guillaume de Machaut and this kind of composers. It is quite
surprising when we know the tragi-comic and grotesque aspect of Butzmann's
music. Nevertheless, it was a great gift to spend some time with this great
name of the German avant-garde. You could listen to him talking for hours
because he has such a great culture and humor. This radio show was the
opportunity to play some of our favorite songs by him, and some others that are
quite surprising, notably his punk or oï singles.
